"Families are like fudge... mostly sweet with a few nuts." ~UnknownI chanced upon this picture which was taken a few years back. The cake was a delightful surprise from Rachel on my birthday. Mervin and Angel presented me with their sweetest kisses while Rachel took this precious shot.
My husband was away at that time. Many things cropped up and life wasn’t rosy then. I was mostly depressed during that period and hadn’t even remembered my own birthday. Imagine my surprise when Rachel brought out the piece of cake which she had bought secretly with her Aunt.
The cake, the kisses, the smiles, and above all, their love; my kids definitely made my day and reminded me that when all things fail, love will give us the strength to go on.
My kids had taught me a most valuable lesson.
