The spell of Fairy Godmother wore off last night on our way home after half past nine. Angel’s fever shot up again sapping out all her energy. She was once again a listless hot babe. Lugging her in front of me was like carrying a huge sack of burning coal. The short journey back seemed like an eternal walk.
However, after two nights of burning, the fire in Angel began to simmer. Although there were still occasional sparks, she was back to her giggly jiggly old self. I had to learn to appreciate the music she was making with her squeals and howling instead of dismissing them as noises.
It was irritating to the ear but a relief to the mind.
Respite.
